The Symptoms can differ from person to person. The severity and rate in which they develope can also vary between patients depending which type of diabetes you or they have.
Saying this in many cases only 1 or 2 symptoms will show up and in over half of the cases no symptoms will be found at all.
Type 1 Diabetes:IDDM (Insulin Dependant Diabetes Mellitus) or Type 1. Type 1 diabetes is where the pancreas stops producing insulin. As stated previously this mainly occurs in people under the age of 30. This is treated by insulin being injected into your body ( fatty Tissue i.e. thigh, arm or abdomen) not into a vein.
Type 2 Diabetes: NIDDM (Non-Insulin Dependant Diabetes) or Type 2. This normally occurs in the people over 40 years of age. This is where the pancreas cannot produce enough insulin for the bodies needs. This therefore leads to an increase in blood sugar levels. the treatment for type two diabetes can be looked upon in two ways, firstly a change in diet may help and secondly a tablet supplement will be offered if there is not much success which helps lower the blood sugar levels. Finally if your diabetes cannot be stablised on tablets you may be put onto injected insulin.
